We attended the spectacular union of Alison Keaveney and Bernard Howes.

Alyah, Yasmine and Simon came along (Alyah is the small one).

Karen and Mick were there too.

Bernie had his nerves under control.  Kenny gave some fatherly advice.

The wedding went off without a hitch!

The three amigos at the reception.

For our first wedding anniversary on September 25th, we charted a yacht at Hawks Bay and sailed around Lion Island and Palm Beach (where they film Home and Away!).

We both had a go behind the wheel.

We had a fantastic seafood platter for lunch.

The next day was my 30th birthday, we had a great meal at the Crowne Plaza Terrigal.  From left: Alison, Bernard, Bob, Nola, Steven, Mum, Me, Christina, Yasmine, Simon, Karen and Mick.

Mum, Christina and I visited a wildlife sanctuary in Newcastle.  Christina met a cockatoo.

I could not get rid of this feathered friend.  He wanted to be my pirate buddy, and he wasn't taking no for an answer.

We also went on a dolphin cruise in Port Stephens.

We then drove to the Blue Mountains to stay with my grandfather, Peter.

We rode the Katoomba Scenic Railway down to the valley floor.

We also drove out to young to visit my uncle Robert, his parter Leonie and my (only) cousin Elizabeth.  Here she is with some wooly friends.

We then drove back to Sydney, this was the view from our hotel room in the Rocks.

We went down to Circular Quay to have a look at the Opera House, but couldn't find it.  Turns out it was behind us.

We took a ferry over to Manly.  I tried to take a picture of some interesting buildings in the distance, but this big bridge got in the way.

Here we are on Manly Beach.  It wasn't very warm.

We went to the Koala Park Sanctuary.  There was a lot of koalas.  They don't do much, apart from look cute.

They had wombats too, they are slightly more active.

There was also loads of kangaroos and wallabies.  Christina got to meet a joey in its mothers pouch.

It was a fun day!

Christina was drawn to her spiritual home in Sydney, Bondi Beach.

We met our friends Felicity and Glen for lunch at Catalinas in Rose Bay.  A pelican comes for the leftover fish each day.

We also went to the Sydney Aquarium at Darling Harbour.  It's fantastic!

They have some pretty big sharks.

The trip to the aquarium made us fancy some seafood.  So it was yet another seafood platter!  Life's tough.
