6 weeks and 2 days, just a sac, hanging around.
7 weeks and 1 day, squeezed into the corner. 4mm long.
8 weeks and 2 days. Shot up to 1.7cm in a growth spurt. Showing early signs of a big head (on the right).
10 weeks and 2 days. The Boy is ahead of schedule (the doc called it "chunky"), at 3.9cm. Head is to the left. The bright white thing under the foetus is the umbilical cord. It has little arm and leg buds. The grey line at the bottom-right is the amniotic sac. This scan was pretty amazing, as The Boy was wriggling all over the place and waving it's arm buds at us. Next scan in 2 weeks!
We had the nuchal scan at 12 weeks and 2 days. It is a scan that checks for genetic abnormalities including Down's Syndrome. After the blood tests, ultrasound tests and background checks, it was determined that there was approximately a 1/32000 chance of The Boy having a genetic abnormalilty, which the specialists said was very good.
The Boy was 6.3cm at the time of this scan, which is a little bigger than expected. All systems go at the moment!
We had a scan at 17 weeks and 5 days to determine The Boy's gender (boy obviously!). He is now 13.6cm, still bigger than expected. At the start of the scan he was asleep, as usual.
He did roll over and blow some bubbles at us though.
As they drifted away you could see his eyes and lips moving, which was weird. If you look closely, you can also see the evidence that The Boy is The Boy!
He then rolled over and went back to sleep. Until next time!
This was taken during the 23 week abnormality scan. You can see his arms waving about. The Boy measured above average for all measurements, which is not surprising really.
